Butter Chicken Recipe

1/2 kg Chicken (Cut into pieces)
2 medium to large Onions
½ Tin chopped tomato tin (purified in a blender)
Ginger Paste

Garlic Paste
MDH Butter Chicken Masala or any other brand will do
Cooking oil (Mustard oil taste better)
1/2 Cup Fresh Cream or Yogurt

How to go about it?!

Wash the chicken pieces and keep them aside.

Cut onions into small square pieces,

Add some cooking oil (Mustard oil) in a pan heat it. Add onion pieces and cook for 1-2 minutes. Then sprinkle the MDH butter chicken Masala over the onions lightly. Remember sprinkle it only and cook on medium to high heat for 2 minutes.

Please note there should be enough cooking oil in the pan to start with a good indication is the oil should cover the onion pieces half from the bottom while the onions are spread out into the pan. If there is not enough oil you can add a little while you put the chopped onions.

Add ginger and garlic paste and cook for a few minutes on medium heat and keep stirring.

Once the onions are golden brown in colour add the chopped chicken. Stir well and again sprinkle the MDH Butter chicken Masala to cover the chicken chopped chicken lightly on the top. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes and turn it and lightly sprinkle the butter chicken Masala again. Now let the chicken cook on medium to high heat for 22 to 25min. Keep stirring every so often so as not to stick to the pan.

Now add the tomato puree and let it cook for further 5minutes.

Make sure the gravy has completely mixed well with the chicken. Do not add water.

Now add the Yogurt and taste the gravy. If the gravy is spicy add a little more Yogurt ¼ cup and keep doing so until it claims down the spice or according to your taste

Please make sure once you have added the Yogurt or the cream stir well to mix all contents evenly and turn down the heat to low/medium. Every time you add the yogurt or the cream mix well and then try the gravy before you add any more. A lot of cream or yogurt is not good as well and for ½ kilo Chicken 400ml yogurt is the maximum one should put otherwise this would spoil the taste.

Enjoy your chicken with some rice or hot nan bread / chappatis
